L&#8217;origen es deu al fet que, amb l&#8217;edat, produ&iuml;m menys quantitats d&#8217;una hormona anomenada melatonina, que s&#8217;encarrega de regular els ritmes circadiaris.<\/p>\n<p>Si vols saber com adormir-nos ens fem grans i <strong>com ha de ser la higiene del son per a la gent gran<\/strong> en la nostra cura, et convidem a unir-te a nosaltres.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Qu&egrave; s&oacute;n els ritmes circadiaris i com t&#8217;afecten?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\nEls <strong>ritmes<\/strong> circadiaris s&oacute;n el que coneixem col&middot;loquialment com a ritmes biol&ograve;gics. Consisteixen en una s&egrave;rie de variacions f&iacute;siques i mentals que es repeteixen c&iacute;clicament cada 24 hores (excepte per desequilibris) i regulen els cicles son-vig&iacute;lia, la gana, els nivells de concentraci&oacute; o el metabolisme, entre d&#8217;altres.<\/p>\n<p>Amb la informaci&oacute; rebuda sobre la pres&egrave;ncia o no de la llum i la seva longitud d&#8217;ona, el cervell sap m&eacute;s o menys a quina hora del dia es troba. <strong>Al capvespre, alliberem melatonina<\/strong> per preparar-nos per dormir.<\/p>\n<p>La veritat &eacute;s que <strong>les llums artificials poden influir en els ritmes circadiaris.<\/strong> &nbsp;Poden ajudar-te a mantenir-te alerta si treballes de nit o, mal &uacute;s, provoques insomni. Aquesta influ&egrave;ncia de les llums amb longituds d&#8217;ona pertanyents a l&#8217;espectre blau &eacute;s la m&eacute;s premiada quan menys melatonina es produeix de forma natural, &eacute;s a dir, en la gent gran.\n<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Per qu&egrave; la gent gran dorm menys a la nit?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\nPerqu&egrave;, naturalment, la disminuci&oacute; de la <strong>producci&oacute; de melatonina<\/strong> fa que el son sigui menys profund i es produeixin despertars al llarg de la nit. De vegades la persona gran aconsegueix adormir-se de nou durant aquests despertars nocturns i de vegades no.<\/p>\n<p>Hi ha qui aconsegueix compensar la manca de son nocturn amb el cap durant el dia o una migdiada i que acumulen els efectes nocius de l&#8217;insomni en forma d&#8217;obesitat, desequilibris en la gana, tend&egrave;ncia a la diabetis, etc. Perqu&egrave; els ritmes circadiaris influeixen en totes aquestes coses, igual que la salut mental.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Si tens una persona malalta o gran al teu c&agrave;rrec i has de cuidar-les durant la<\/strong>nit, para atenci&oacute; als teus propis ritmes circadiaris per no patir la s&iacute;ndrome del cuidador. Tamb&eacute; pots acudir als nostres serveis d&#8217;atenci&oacute; a la gent gran perqu&egrave; el teu ritme de vida no es vegi alterat.\n<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Consells per a una bona higiene del son en la gent gran<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\nLa millor manera d&#8217;ajudar a la gent gran a descansar correctament &eacute;s amb una s&egrave;rie de <strong>senzills consells sobre la higiene del son.<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fins i tot si una persona gran no ha dormit molt b&eacute;, &eacute;s millor <strong>aixecar-se i fer una vida normal, <\/strong>llevat que es convalescen.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Respecta<\/strong> un calendari d&#8217;&agrave;pats i activitats per enviar senyals al cervell del que &eacute;s el temps real, no el que indiquen dispositius com la televisi&oacute;.<\/li>\n<li>Fer <strong>gimn&agrave;stica de manteniment durant el dia t&#8217;ajuda<\/strong> a dormir millor a la nit.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Suprimir l&#8217;&uacute;s d&#8217;estimulants a partir de mitja<\/strong>tarda. Si al nostre avi li ve de gust un caf&egrave; amb sopar, deixeu-lo descafe&iuml;nar.<\/li>\n<li>A menys que hagis demostrat que <strong>un cap o migdiada<\/strong> empitjora la qualitat del son, tenint en compte quins s&oacute;n els ritmes circadiaris i com varien en la gent gran, el millor &eacute;s permetre aquestes pauses durant el dia.<\/li>\n<li>Parli amb el metge de la persona al seu c&agrave;rrec si aquesta persona gran ha de prendre o no un <strong>suplement de melatonina<\/strong> o, si cal, un ansiol&iacute;tic o hipn&ograve;tic. Respectar les pautes de la ingesta, tant si s&oacute;n suplements a contracorrent com si s&oacute;n medicaments: no es tracta de prendre&#8217;ls sempre al mateix temps si hi ha un canvi oport&uacute;, sin&oacute; de tenir sempre el mateix interval de temps abans d&#8217;anar a dormir.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>La gent gran acostuma a descansar malament per raons purament<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>biol&ograve;giques. Tamb&eacute; poden patir depressi&oacute;, ansietat o qualsevol altra ra&oacute; per la qual el son sigui menys descansat.<\/p>\n<p>Hi ha una s&egrave;rie de directrius senzilles que es posen a prova primer quan <strong>busqueu com adormir-vos un cop h&agrave;giu entrat a la tercera<\/strong>edat. Si aquests consells basats en la higiene del son no s&oacute;n efectius, &eacute;s quan parles amb el teu metge sobre la possibilitat de rec&oacute;rrer, temporalment o cr&ograve;nicament, a determinats f&agrave;rmacs. I &eacute;s que dormir malament perjudica la salut de tots, per&ograve; m&eacute;s encara la dels nostres ancians.
